Infrastructure Development

In the development of any state or nation, development of infrastructure has its own place. Sesa Goa believes that by building or developing the appropriate infrastructure, a conducive environment for all round development can be created. We encourage active participation of community in creating infrastructural assets that will meet their long-term needs. Following jobs have been carried out across the operational areas.

School Infrastructure Development

This is a genuine need as far as the educational institutes in the rural areas are concerned. IOB has always been on the forefront in creating and developing infrastructure which will help in creating a conducive environment for learning. Below are a few of our recent School Infrastructure Development Programs -

  • Converted 50 Anganwadi centres into brownfield Nand Ghars at Dharwad.
  • School bus transportation for 200 students in Karnataka & 90 students in Goa
  • Provision of toilets in 12 schools
  • Compound wall construction in 18 schools
  • Class room construction for 9 schools
  • Also, various Infrastructural development works in 7 schools in community over the years in Goa.
Drought Mitigation Measures

Drought and water scarcity is one of the major concerns of the villages in Chitradurga district, Karnataka. Under the drought mitigation initiative, completed the sinking of more than 34 bore wells in Chitradurga district. Five water bodies namely Kadleguddu, Tanigehalli, Megalahalli, Medikeripura, Sihineeru Honda ponds and twenty-nine check dams were also desilted. Numerous watersheds were also created to provide adequate water for agriculture and allied activities. Vedanta also rejuvenated the Hirekandavadi pond by channelizing water through canals and pumps

All these initiatives have resulted in an average increase in the level of ground water level (DTW) by 3.81 meters and nearly 12,000 people have benefitted through this initiative during the years from 2016 to 2021. Along with this 6 water bodies have been rejuvenated in Karnataka.
